Demon Slayer adds Giyu and Shinobu to Seven Knights Re:BIRTH
Netmarble’s mobile RPG has started the second phase of its Demon Slayer collaboration, adding Giyu and Shinobu until 29 October.
The second phase of Netmarble’s collaboration between Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃) and Seven Knights Re:BIRTH is now live, adding Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho as limited-time heroes. The pair can be obtained through pick-up summons running until 29 October, according to reporting on Netmarble’s update. 12
Giyu is the Water Hashira, while Shinobu is the Insect Hashira in Demon Slayer. Their arrival expands the crossover beyond the first phase, which introduced Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma to the collectible role-playing game. Those earlier characters remain available during the event window, while Tanjiro can also be claimed through the first-day check-in reward.
What the update adds
The collaboration’s new event content is not limited to the two summon banners. Players can also tackle challenge stages featuring Doma, a major antagonist from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle. Clearing the event content provides rewards, while the collaboration’s existing characters and Nezuko Kamado’s Legendary Pet remain part of the wider event progression.
The update follows the first collaboration phase, which began on 1 October. The event therefore gives players a short window to collect the new heroes and finish its limited challenges before the 29 October end date. Netmarble’s game is available on iOS, Android and PC, giving the crossover a broad audience beyond the anime’s existing fanbase.
Why this matters
Seven Knights Re:BIRTH is a remake of Netmarble’s original Seven Knights, retaining its story, characters and combat foundations while updating the presentation and progression systems. That makes the Demon Slayer event a straightforward piece of live-service promotion, but also a useful snapshot of how the game is using licensed characters to refresh its roster after launch.
The crossover is particularly direct in its choice of additions. Giyu and Shinobu are two of the series’ most recognisable Hashira, and the artwork supplied with the announcement places both characters at the centre of the update rather than treating them as minor collection rewards. The event also keeps the first wave relevant, so players who joined at launch are not immediately locked out of the earlier characters.
Our opinion
This is a substantial second wave rather than a token cosmetic tie-in: two headline characters, a named boss challenge and continuing access to the first phase give the collaboration enough content to bring lapsed players back. The catch is familiar to any gacha player — the limited summon window puts pressure on collectors, and the event’s value will depend on how generous the in-game rates and rewards are. Netmarble has made the timetable clear, though, and the 29 October deadline gives players a definite date by which to decide whether the crossover is worth their time.
