The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series is getting a 15-track song collection in Japan on 16 January 2027, bringing together opening and ending themes, insert songs and one previously unreleased track. The album is titled Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Song Collection SEED SONGS in English, and is being released by FlyingDog at a listed price of ¥3,300. 1

What the album includes

The collection pulls together music from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, as well as the film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom (機動戦士ガンダムSEED FREEDOM). That gives the release a useful spread across the franchise rather than limiting it to one television series. 1

The track list includes See-Saw's “Anna ni Issho Datta no ni”, Lacus Clyne's “Quiet Night C.E.73”, FictionJunction YUUKA's “Akatsuki no Kuruma” and “Life Goes On” by Mika Arisaka. It also includes “Distance” by FictionJunction, which Oricon says is appearing on a SEED-related album for the first time. 1

The film's ending theme, “Sarikiwa no Romantics” by See-Saw, is also receiving its first album placement here. The final slot is reserved for a new song whose artist has not yet been announced. 1

Why it matters

SEED SONGS arrives as the franchise continues to connect its original television run with the more recent film era. The choice to pair familiar themes with a new song and the first album appearance of two tracks makes this more than a simple catalogue reissue, although the practical appeal will depend on whether an English-language edition or overseas retailer listing follows. 1

Our opinion

This is a strong collector-focused announcement because it gives Gundam SEED fans a single release that spans the television series, DESTINY and SEED Freedom. The unrevealed new song is the most interesting detail for now: it gives the album a small piece of genuinely new material rather than making it purely retrospective. 1
