The Hasunosora school idol project will make its TV anime debut on 10 January 2027, with a new key visual and cast revealed.

The Hasunosora Jyogakuin School Idol Club cast in school uniforms in the Love Live! TV anime key visual

The Love Live! Hasunosora Jyogakuin School Idol Club TV anime will premiere in Japan on 10 January 2027, bringing the story of its 106th class to screens for the first time as a television series. AnimeTV JP also reports that a new key visual has been released, showing the cast together in their school uniforms. 1

The series will cover the students’ story from April through June, giving the adaptation a defined school-year setting rather than leaving its broadcast plans open-ended. The announcement names Julia Hoshimiya as Maika Kinjo, Kana Asahi as Aoi Reisawa, Kanae Yuasa as Mion Shinowa, Hina Sakurai as Ginko Momose, Fuka Hayama as Kosuzu Kachimachi, Rin Kurusu as Hime Anyoji, Miu Miyake as Ceras Yanagida Lilienfeld and Amane Shindo as Izumi Katsuragi. 1

Gou Kurosaki is directing, with Fumiaki Maruto handling the script and Haruko Iizuka designing the characters. Yasuhiro Okumura is the art director, Yoshiaki Fujisawa is composing the music, and Sublimation is producing the animation. 1

A new television chapter for Hasunosora

Love Live! Hasunosora Jyogakuin School Idol Club is the fifth instalment in the long-running Love Live! franchise. It began as part of the Link! Like! LoveLive! smartphone project, which launched in April 2023, and has since expanded through music, YouTube content and live events. 1

The project’s connection to an existing multimedia property gives the TV anime a sizeable cast and established audience from day one. It also means the January premiere is more than a standalone introduction: it is the next major screen expansion for a story that has already been developing across several formats. Comic Natalie is credited as the source for the premiere and key-visual news. 2

Our opinion

A firm premiere date gives the Hasunosora project the clearest broadcast milestone it has had so far. The 106th-class focus should make the television series easier for newcomers to follow, while the returning multimedia framework gives existing Love Live! fans plenty of context to bring with them. With the cast, director, writer and studio now identified, the January 2027 launch has the shape of a proper next chapter rather than a vague promise of an adaptation.
