Muse Asia licenses four anime for October, including Magic Repo Man

Muse Asia has lined up four anime for October, including the upcoming Magic Repo Man and the delayed A Tale of the Secret Saint. The streaming service has also licensed season 2 of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special and season 2 of Sasaki and Peeps.

The first title is Magic Repo Man: Dumped by My Party, I’ll Cash In With a Cute Support Fairy to Become the Strongest!, based on the manga by Masakichi and Shingou Iijima. The television anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on 4 October.

The story follows Lent, a magic-point lender who is expelled from his adventuring party after his companions become powerful enough to question his usefulness. He then discovers a hidden power in his Gift and teams up with a mischievous support fairy to reclaim the magic he loaned out — with interest.

Takahiro Tamano is directing Magic Repo Man at Synergy SP. Ryūsuke Mori is handling the series scripts, while Kazue Mori is designing the characters. Reiji Kawashima voices Lent and Emiri Katō voices Empee.

A Tale of the Secret Saint was delayed from an April premiere to an October debut in Japan. The fantasy series follows Fia Ruud, a knight-in-training who remembers that she was once a powerful Saint after a near-fatal encounter with a dragon.

Tomoe Makino directs the anime at Felix Film, with Naoki Murata serving as assistant director. Deko Akao oversees the scripts, Satomi Kurita designs the characters and Kenichiro Suehiro composes the music. Shion Wakayama voices Fia, with Shinnosuke Tokudome as Zavilia.

Season 2 of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is scheduled to premiere in Japan on 7 October. The anime is based on Wookjakga’s Korean webtoon, and FLOW is returning to perform the new season’s opening theme, “Sorrow”.

Taishi Kawaguchi returns to direct season 2 at Arvo Animation, while Takamitsu Kouno returns to oversee and write the scripts. The returning cast includes Takuma Terashima as Desir Herman, Sayumi Suzushiro as Romantica Eru and Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schnaizer.

The fourth title is season 2 of Sasaki and Peeps. ANN confirms Muse Asia’s licensing announcement and an October debut on the service, although the report does not provide a separate Japanese broadcast date or detailed streaming territories for this title.

It does not rely on one giant headline title; instead, Muse Asia is stacking the month with fantasy adventures, returning seasons and at least one premise — a magical debt collector taking revenge on his former party — that is too ridiculous not to investigate.

A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is the obvious priority for returning viewers, while Magic Repo Man looks like the wildcard. The latter could either become a wonderfully petty fantasy romp or spend twelve episodes explaining its own joke, and we are absolutely watching to find out which.

Keep an eye on Muse Asia’s regional listings before making a watch plan. The October licences are confirmed, but availability is still a local question — the most boring part of streaming, and somehow always the part that matters most.
