My Happy Marriage special sets a 25 October premiere
Kadokawa's main promotional video reveals Riria.'s opening theme ahead of a three-episode special that airs and streams on 25 October.

Kadokawa has released the main promotional video for the My Happy Marriage anime special, confirming both its opening theme and its premiere date. The three-episode special airs from 25 October.
The trailer reveals and previews the opening song, "Shiawase de Namida ga Deru no wa." (Crying Tears of Happiness.), performed by Riria. It is the first substantial look at new material from the series since its second season finished.
When and where it airs
The special begins on TV Tokyo and other stations on 25 October at 7:00 p.m. JST, and streams on Netflix and other services the same day at 8:30 p.m. JST. All three episodes go out together on that first day rather than running weekly.
Who is back
Reina Ueda and Kaito Ishikawa return from the earlier seasons as Miyo and Kiyoka Kudo, while M.A.O joins as a new character, Kimio Nagaba. Takehiro Kubota, who directed the first season and the 2024 OVA and co-directed the second, returns to direct. The special adapts material from Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka's light novel series, which Yen Press publishes in English.
Our opinion
An anime special is usually a holding pattern — three episodes of side story to keep a franchise warm while a real season is decided. My Happy Marriage is an unusually good fit for that format anyway, because its appeal has always been the quiet domestic register rather than a plot that needs a season-long arc to breathe. Giving Miyo and Kiyoka three standalone episodes, all at once, is closer to how the novels actually read. The risk is that a same-day Netflix drop turns a television event into a weekend's binge and then silence; the reward is that overseas viewers finally get the show at the same moment as Japan.
