The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power is approaching the end of its manga run. Artist Yona Etou announced that the adaptation of Almond’s light novels, subtitled Disgraced No Longer, I’m Finding Happiness with the Prince!, will end with its next volume.
Etou made the announcement on X on Friday. Earth Star Entertainment released the manga’s ninth collected volume in Japan on 11 September, while J-Novel Club released the seventh English volume digitally on 12 August. The final volume’s release date has not been confirmed in the verified announcement.
The story centres on Lady Carolina, the overlooked daughter of a powerful duke. Her father is a prime minister and her elder sister is a gifted mage destined to become the nation’s next Saint, leaving Carolina convinced that a quiet life in the shadows is all she can expect. A royal decree changes that plan by pushing her into a political marriage with the neighbouring empire’s formidable “Bloodthirsty Prince”.
Almond originally published the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website, and Earth Star Entertainment later released it in print with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe. The fourth and final light-novel volume arrived in June 2023, and J-Novel Club has released the full novel series in English.
Etou launched the manga adaptation on the Comic Earth Star website in April 2022. A television anime adaptation debuted in Japan on 30 June, with Crunchyroll streaming it as it airs. The manga ending therefore closes one part of the franchise while the wider adaptation remains active.
Our opinion
A manga reaching its planned finish is better news than a story being stretched until its central romance forgets why it exists. With the light novels already complete and the next volume confirmed as the finale, readers have a clear route to the conclusion rather than another vague promise that Carolina’s happiness is somewhere over the horizon.
