Ramen Akaneko Season 2 reveals new key visual

Ramen Akaneko (ラーメン赤猫) is returning for a second TV anime season in January 2027, and its official website has now published a new main visual showing the restaurant's feline staff alongside its returning cast. ¹

The announcement does not give an exact premiere date. It says only that Season 2 will begin broadcasting in January 2027 on the TV Tokyo network, so there is no basis yet for treating this as a confirmed worldwide streaming launch. ¹

The new visual gathers the characters around the ramen shop's food-focused world, with the cats in their recognisable kitchen and service roles. It also carries the Japanese title for the second season and the January 2027 broadcast notice, making the artwork a proper announcement image rather than a generic promotional still.

Ramen Akaneko is based on Angyaman's manga. The first season established its low-key premise around a ramen restaurant run by cats, with human employee Tamako helping the unusual team. The new artwork keeps that ensemble focus: it is selling the return of the whole shop rather than singling out one new character or story arc.

A Crunchyroll News report has also described the visual reveal and identified Michinori Chiba as chief animation director and character designer. ² That gives the announcement some useful production context, but it does not change what the official notice confirms: the broadcast window is January 2027, while the exact day and international availability remain open.

Our opinion

This is a small but effective Season 2 announcement because the visual communicates the appeal immediately. It is colourful, character-led and specific to the series' restaurant setting, while the official wording avoids pretending that a precise premiere date or streaming platform has been confirmed. The next meaningful update will be the date itself, not another broad promise that the season is coming in January.
