Sgt. Frog figures bring Natsumi and Giroro to life
MegaHouse is taking pre-orders for a palm-size Melty Princess figure pairing Sgt. Frog characters Natsumi and Giroro.
MegaHouse has opened pre-orders for a new Sgt. Frog figure pairing Natsumi Hinata and Giroro in the Melty Princess palm-size range. The figure is listed at ¥9,350 including tax and is scheduled to ship in late March 2027.1
A small scene from Sgt. Frog
The product is based on the familiar relationship between Natsumi and Giroro, rather than presenting either character as a standalone figure. MegaHouse describes the pair as sharing an everyday moment: Natsumi sits in her school uniform while Giroro, the red Keronian soldier, stays at her side. The official product photographs show the two figures together on a shared display, with Natsumi leaning into one of Giroro’s characteristic poses.1
The design uses a softer colour treatment for Natsumi’s hair and uniform while keeping Giroro’s military-inspired look recognisable. The finished item stands at approximately 90mm tall and includes the figure plus one dedicated display base.1
Sgt. Frog, known in Japan as Keroro Gunso (ケロロ軍曹), began as a comedy manga by Mine Yoshizaki in 1999. The story follows Keroro and his platoon as they attempt to invade Earth while living with the Hinata family. Its television anime began in 2004 and ran for seven years, while five theatrical films also followed.2
Price and release date
MegaHouse’s English product listing places the release in March 2027 and gives the price as ¥9,350 including tax. The Japanese product information specifies late March and lists the same price. The item is currently available to pre-order through hobby retailers, although availability and delivery dates can differ by region.12
The listing also notes that product images and information may be added to or updated over time. That matters for a figure like this: retailers can change their stock status, shipping estimates or regional pricing before the planned release window. Buyers should check the latest product page before ordering rather than treating the current date as a guaranteed delivery date.1
Our opinion
This is a nicely focused addition to the Melty Princess range because it sells the relationship between Natsumi and Giroro, not just two familiar names placed next to one another. The shared pose and small footprint should make it more appealing to fans who want a character display without committing to a large-scale statue. The price is firmly in collector territory, but the official presentation gives the pair a clear identity and a reason to exist together.
