The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter anime reveals new trailer and cast

The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter anime has revealed its first visual, trailer, main cast and production staff, led by Doga Kobo.

Official key visual for The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter anime, showing Eve with the skull dragon Nemu.

The Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter is getting a television anime, and Kadokawa has now shared the first visual, trailer and production details for the adaptation.

A gentle story with a sharp-looking adaptation

The series follows Eve, a girl raised by Nemu, a skull dragon who has cared for her since she was found as an infant. The contrast between a fearsome dragon and the warmth of their everyday life is central to the original manga’s appeal.

Kana Hanazawa voices Eve, while Kazuhiko Inoue plays Nemu. Doga Kobo is animating the project, with Tomo Atsumi on character design, Yuka Yamada handling series composition, and Daiki Kuribayashi and Yuki Hatakeyama credited for background art.

The trailer sets the tone

The newly released trailer introduces Eve and Nemu alongside the series’ quieter domestic moments, while also showing the fantasy setting that surrounds their unusual family. It is a mood-setting first look rather than a full release-date announcement.

The cast have also shared their enthusiasm for the project. Hanazawa said the adaptation captures the preciousness of ordinary life with somebody you care about, and that she hopes viewers will enjoy Eve’s free-spirited character.

Our opinion

This is exactly the sort of anime announcement that benefits from showing its personality early. The visual and trailer make the relationship between Eve and Nemu the selling point, rather than burying it beneath a noisy roll-call of fantasy lore. Doga Kobo is a strong fit for material that needs warmth as much as spectacle, although the eventual series will have to preserve that emotional balance once the wider adventure begins.

A broadcast date has not been announced in the checked material, so this remains a promising first look rather than a release-calendar story. The important detail is that the adaptation already has a clear identity: a family drama with a dragon at its centre.
