Tsukasa Sakurai directs at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. Naoki Tozuka is overseeing series scripts and Naru Nishikōri is designing characters, the pair who worked together on both seasons of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince. Sakurai is also chief director on the Rebuild World anime announced the same weekend.

Utsuzawa's novels run under the full Japanese title Shin no Seijo de Aru Watashi wa Tsuihō Saremashita. Dakara Kono Kuni wa Mō Owari Desu. Kodansha publishes the series in Japan and serialises the manga adaptation on its Palcy app. The anime was first announced in July 2026, and the teaser arrives with roughly three months left before the premiere.

Our opinion

The banished-saint premise is one of the busiest corners of light novel fantasy right now, and January 2027 already has company, so the teaser had to promise something beyond a wronged heroine and a royal court. What it offers is a sharper hook than most: Elian's banishment is framed as the country's problem rather than just hers, which gives the story somewhere to go beyond revenge. Bandai Namco Filmworks has kept the reveal deliberately small, and Sakurai's team has form with crowded ensemble casts. The risk is tonal drift. If the anime cannot decide whether it is a grudge story or a comedy of manners, the premise will do the heavy lifting alone, and that rarely lasts a full cour.
