Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation is returning with Episode of Savanaclaw, a new chapter centred on the Beastman dormitory at Night Raven College. Disney+ Japan’s official announcement confirms an exclusive December stream, while Anime News Network reports that the run begins on 23 December with eight episodes.12

The story moves the spotlight to Savanaclaw, one of the seven dormitories at the magic academy. The official campaign page frames the season around the dormitory’s scheming and its “unbreakable spirit of the king of beasts”, tying the setting to Disney’s The Lion King while keeping the focus on the game’s own characters.1

Leona Kingscholar returns as Savanaclaw’s dorm leader, voiced in Japanese by Yūichirō Umehara. Taito Ban reprises Jack Howl, while Aoi Ichikawa returns as Ruggie Bucchi. Disney’s promotional material presents the three characters together, with Leona in the foreground and Jack and Ruggie positioned behind him in the green-and-gold Savanaclaw setting.1

The announcement also gives the new season a clear hook beyond its release date: the dormitory’s students are preparing a scheme that will involve the wider academy. That leaves room for the series to build on the relationships and tensions established in the first chapter, rather than treating Savanaclaw as a disconnected side story.

The December date currently comes with an important territory caveat. Disney+ Japan describes the series as an exclusive stream on its Japanese service, but the official page does not establish identical availability in every other market. Viewers outside Japan should therefore check their local Disney+ listing before assuming the date applies to their territory.1

Our opinion

Savanaclaw is a smart choice for the animation’s next focus. Leona, Jack and Ruggie already bring a sharper mix of rivalry, dry humour and unresolved resentment than a generic “new season” hook would suggest, and the official visual gives the chapter a strong identity of its own. Eight weekly episodes should also give the dormitory’s central conflict enough room to breathe. The only frustration is the regional uncertainty: Disney has supplied a firm Japanese date, but not yet a worldwide schedule. For now, Episode of Savanaclaw looks like a December anime watch for Disney+ subscribers, with the exact local launch still worth checking.
