Victoria of Many Faces gets Season 2 and a new special episode

Victoria of Many Faces is getting another case to solve. Kadokawa has announced a second season and a new special episode for the TV anime based on Syuu and Nanna Fujimi’s light novel series, shortly after the first season finished its run.

A recap episode is also planned for the following Tuesday, but the important bit is the future of the series: Season 2 and the special have been confirmed without a release date or streaming details.

What's actually going on

The anime, known in Japanese as Tefuda ga Ōme no Victoria, began broadcasting on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels on 7 July. Its first season ended with episode nine on 1 September.

Studio DEEN handles animation, with Nobukage Kimura directing, Naohiro Fukushima overseeing series composition and Mina Ōsawa handling animation character designs. Those staff details carry over the identity of the first season, but Kadokawa has not yet said when the new material will arrive.

That means there is no sensible way to attach a season, month or platform to the sequel yet. A renewal is confirmed; the timetable is not.

Why you should care

The announcement lands at the right moment. Viewers have only just reached the end of Victoria’s first televised story, so the promise of a special and a second season gives the series momentum rather than leaving its audience waiting in total silence.

The recap episode should help newer viewers catch up, while the special may serve as a bridge into the next chapter. Until Kadokawa gives us more, though, anything beyond those confirmations is guesswork.

Our opinion

A second season is welcome news for a mystery anime that has clearly earned more room to play. We are less interested in pretending a release date exists when it does not. Enjoy the renewal, then wait for Kadokawa to tell us when Victoria returns.

Recommendation: add it to your watchlist, but ignore any alleged streaming or premiere details until the official production team confirms them.
