Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time Blu-ray due February 17
Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time arrives on Japanese Blu-ray and DVD in February 2027 with event footage, accessibility features and a director’s-cut ending.
Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time (劇場版「暗殺教室」みんなの時間) is heading home in Japan, with its Blu-ray and DVD editions scheduled for February 17, 2027. The announcement gives fans a fairly substantial physical release rather than a bare disc of the feature: both formats include two discs, accessibility features and a bundle of extra footage. 1
The first disc contains the film with barrier-free subtitles and an audio guide. It also includes a trailer collection, a director’s-cut version of the film’s ending part, and the opening and ending sequences created for the television rerun. That makes the release more than a straightforward theatrical-to-home-video transfer, particularly for viewers who want to compare the film’s ending with its extended version. 1
The second disc collects footage from the Assassination Classroom special event “Class Reunion Time”, held on October 17, 2026. The event material gives the package a useful archival angle, especially for fans following the franchise beyond the main film. The official product page lists the event footage as planned content, so the final release details could still change before launch. 1
Both the Blu-ray and DVD cost 9,900 yen including tax. First pressings come with a special sleeve case and booklet, while the manufacturer’s purchase bonus is an A6 acrylic board. Animate, Amazon and Rakuten Books each list a different shop bonus, including an acrylic coaster, character art board or a set of long photographs. 1
The film opened in Japanese cinemas in 2026 and was animated by Lerche, the studio behind the Assassination Classroom television anime. The franchise began as Yusei Matsui’s manga, published by Shueisha, before becoming a two-season television series and now this new film project. 2
The original announcement came through the film’s official X account, while the official product page supplies the release date, pricing, disc contents and bonus information. 3 International release plans are not mentioned in the available announcement, so February 17 currently applies to the Japanese Blu-ray and DVD release rather than a confirmed UK, European or North American edition.
Our opinion
This is a stronger home-video package than the release date alone suggests. The second disc’s event footage and the director’s-cut ending give existing fans a reason to buy, while the audio guide and barrier-free subtitles make the film more accessible. The only missing piece is a confirmed overseas release: until the publisher announces one, international fans should treat the Japanese date as a useful reference point, not a promise that an imported edition will be available locally.
