The new Dandevain anime has begun its autumn 2026 broadcast run, bringing a combining robot, a returning enemy and a toy-company conspiracy to screens. The series, titled Beast King War God Dandevain in English, began airing on 7 October on Tokyo MX and other Japanese broadcasters. 1

The show is the first project in Good Smile Company's Combining God Series. Its story begins 20 years after the combining robot Dandevain defeated the mysterious invaders known as Aposdoll. Peace has settled over the world, but Kasuga, the toy company that built its success around Dandevain merchandise, is struggling after leaning too heavily on the robot's legacy. 1

A new pilot enters the fight

The crisis changes when Aposdoll returns to Tokyo. While the public panics, high-school student Gekiba Shijima is invited to climb into Dandevain by his uncle Yusaku Kuroiwa, who was once the robot's main pilot. The official synopsis positions the new series as both a robot action story and a tale about the commercial machinery built around a famous hero. 1

The main cast includes Takuma Terashima, Haruka Shiraishi, Saya Aizawa, Nao Toyama, Aya Yamane, Misaki Kuno, Asuna Tomari and Katsuyuki Konishi. Liden Films and Kayac Animation are listed as the production companies, while Takanori Nishikawa performs the opening theme, Zankyo Blaster. 1

Good Smile Channel's official main promotional video shows Dandevain in full combat form and gives a clearer look at the series' bright mechanical design. The PV is available below for viewers who want to see the robot, the visual tone and the scale of the returning threat before starting the series. 2

Our opinion

Dandevain has a promising hook because its conflict is not only about stopping another monster attack. The 20-year gap lets the series ask what happens when a once-essential weapon becomes a brand, a toy line and a business dependency. That gives the robot spectacle a more unusual economic backdrop, while the teenager-and-retired-pilot setup supplies the familiar human entry point.

The available information is still an introduction rather than a verdict on the full season. For now, the combination of a new pilot, a revived enemy and a strong official PV makes Dandevain one to watch for fans of colourful combining-robot anime. 12
