EAT-MAN The Over Order is getting a new spinoff manga from creator Akihito Yoshitomi, extending the upcoming anime project into a fresh print serial. The manga, titled Desert-Dessert From EAT-MAN The Over Order, will launch in the January 2027 issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius on 26 November, according to the official anime account and Anime News Network. 12

The announcement follows the launch of the new anime project, which is based on Yoshitomi's EAT-MAN manga. The original series follows Bolt Crank, a wandering adventurer who can eat metal and reproduce weapons from his right hand. The new anime is being presented as a completely original story rather than a straightforward adaptation of an existing manga arc. 1

What the spinoff adds

Yoshitomi is credited with the original work, scripts and design concepts for EAT-MAN The Over Order. The anime is directed by Shunji Oga, with Satoshi Hirayama handling character designs and Studio Cab producing the animation. Masashi Ebara is returning as the voice of Bolt Crank, a role he previously played in earlier EAT-MAN anime adaptations. 1

The spinoff manga gives the wider project another way to develop its world before the anime arrives. Its title points directly to the new series, while its launch in Monthly Shonen Sirius puts the project in front of readers through an established Kodansha manga magazine. 2

The official website describes EAT-MAN The Over Order as the third anime adaptation of Yoshitomi's long-running science-fiction manga. It also says the new production will follow Bolt Crank through a series of jobs, encounters and mysteries, with the character's ability to consume metal remaining central to the premise. 1

The official teaser presents Bolt Crank and confirms the anime's title, but it does not reveal how closely the spinoff manga will connect to the animated story. For now, the confirmed details are its title, creator, magazine and 26 November launch date. 12

Our opinion

This is a smart way to give EAT-MAN The Over Order more room to breathe. A spinoff manga can introduce the project's tone and supporting ideas without asking the anime to explain everything at once, while Yoshitomi's direct involvement gives it a stronger connection to the new adaptation than a purely promotional tie-in would have. The useful detail is the launch date: readers have a concrete way to see more of this revival before the anime's full release plans become clearer.
