Sho Yamazaki and Fuyu Aoki announce new manga
The creators will launch Shuran Reijo no Yarakashi on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket platform on October 30.
Sho Yamazaki and writer Fuyu Aoki will launch a new manga, Shuran Reijo no Yarakashi (酒乱令嬢のやらかし), on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket platform on October 30. The announcement came from Magazine Pocket's official account and was reported by Anime News Network.12
The manga's full English title is The Violent Drunken Noblewoman's Screw-up: Drowning in Alcohol Before My Political Marriage, I Then Awoke in the Middle of a Dragon's Den with My Cold-Hearted Fiance. Yamazaki is credited as the artist, while Aoki is the writer.1
A drunken night starts the story
The story follows Arwina, whose younger sister Lorelai attracts the attention of every young man around her. Arwina eventually finds a fiance who appears immune to Lorelai's charm, but he calls off their marriage on the night of Arwina's 21st birthday. She goes to a bar to drink away the disappointment and wakes the following morning in bed with an unknown man.1
The announcement artwork presents the central pair alongside the manga's launch date. It also identifies the series as a new Magazine Pocket serial, placing the debut on October 30 rather than announcing a completed book or an adaptation.12
Yamazaki and Aoki's previous work
Yamazaki previously launched Taro Miyao Becomes a Cat Parent?! on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service in May 2024. Shueisha shipped its fourth compiled volume in June 2025.1
The artist also launched Excuse me dentist, it's touching me! on Shonen Jump+ in May 2020. That manga ended in January 2023, and MANGA Plus began publishing it in English later that year.1
Aoki and artist Virginia Nitohei launched Merchant's Daughter Agnes: The Villainess Banished to a Remote District Rises to Success Through Her Business Skills in Shueisha's Grand Jump in November 2025. Shueisha shipped the second compiled volume on September 17.1
Aoki also launched the Safe & Sound in the Arms of an Elite Knight light novel series on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in June 2022. Drecom published the series in three volumes, and J-Novel Club publishes the original novels and the manga adaptation in English.1
What readers can expect
The announcement establishes a clear premise but leaves some practical details open. Magazine Pocket is the confirmed platform and October 30 is the confirmed launch date; the announcement does not provide a translated serialisation schedule, a launch time or information about an English-language release.12 Readers interested in the series will therefore need to follow Magazine Pocket's own updates for availability and future chapters.
The setup combines a broken engagement, an alcohol-fuelled mistake and a fantasy romance involving a dragon's den. That gives the new series a strong hook, while the involvement of creators with recent manga and light-novel credits gives readers a useful sense of the team behind it.
Our opinion
This is a promising announcement because the premise is immediately legible without pretending that more has been confirmed than actually has. The launch date is firm, the platform is named and the creator pairing is clear; everything beyond that should wait for Magazine Pocket or the creators to spell it out. The most useful next detail will be whether the series is available internationally, since the English title and Aoki's existing overseas publishing connections may create interest beyond Japan.
For now, Shuran Reijo no Yarakashi is best treated as a new manga to watch rather than a series with a confirmed English release. Its unusually specific title and high-concept opening should make the October 30 debut easy to spot, but readers should check the official platform for the actual chapter release and language options.
