*Kagurabachi* anime adds Miku Itō and Miyari Nemoto ahead of April 2027 premiere

The *Kagurabachi* anime has added two more names to its rapidly sharpening cast, and the adaptation now has a proper launch window: April 2027. Miku Itō will voice Hinao, while Miyari Nemoto joins as Char Kyonagi, two characters who give the revenge-driven sword saga a little more of its human texture.

Shochiku, Crunchyroll and CyberAgent made the announcement with English-subtitled character promotional videos. It is another sign that *Kagurabachi* is being lined up as one of the big global anime launches of 2027, rather than being quietly dropped into a crowded spring schedule and left to fend for itself.

Hinao and Char join the fight

Itō will play Hinao, the charming information broker at Cafe Haru Haru who connects clients with sorcerers. In a story full of people who solve problems with enchanted blades, having someone who can actually find the right person is a fairly useful superpower.

Nemoto will voice Char Kyonagi, described as a cheerful and courageous young girl who is being pursued for undisclosed reasons. Char is one of the people Chihiro encounters during his revenge mission, making her introduction an important part of the story’s early emotional stakes.

The previously announced cast includes Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira, Tomokazu Seki as his father Kunishige Rokuhira, and Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba.

A revenge story with a very sharp edge

The manga by Takeru Hokazono follows Chihiro, the son of a famous swordsmith. He once trained to follow his father into the craft, but a bloody tragedy destroys that future. Chihiro is left with one of his father’s enchanted blades and a single-minded mission to track down those responsible.

VIZ Media’s Shonen Jump service and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus publish the manga digitally in English. VIZ is also releasing it in print.

The team behind the adaptation

Tetsuya Takeuchi is directing the anime at Cypic. Takeuchi previously directed *From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated!* and worked as a key animator on *Naruto* and *Naruto Shippūden*.

Keigo Sasaki is designing the characters, following work on *Blue Exorcist* and *Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray*. Shochiku and CyberAgent are serving on the production committee.

A worldwide launch in April 2027

The anime will stream worldwide in April 2027, excluding Japan, Mainland China, North Korea and South Korea. The announcement does not give a more specific premiere date or name the streaming service for each territory.

The production has already begun showing off the series internationally. A preview tour screened the first 20 minutes of episode one at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Japan Expo in Paris, ANImagic in Mannheim and Anime NYC in New York. The tour is scheduled to conclude in Japan in spring 2027, where the complete first episode will be screened.

That is a remarkably confident promotional campaign for a series still months away from broadcast. It also gives international fans an unusually early look at the adaptation before the full premiere arrives.

Our opinion

*Kagurabachi* has the kind of premise that could easily become a very loud, very silly action anime: tragic swordsmith, enchanted weapons, criminal sorcerers and a hero fuelled by revenge. The encouraging part is that the team appears to understand the material needs more than impressive sword flashes.

Hinao and Char are important additions because they widen the story beyond Chihiro’s anger. Hinao brings the network and information that keep the plot moving, while Char gives the revenge mission a vulnerable human centre. If the anime gets that balance right, it could be considerably more than another glossy *Weekly Shonen Jump* adaptation.

A 2027 premiere also gives Cypic time to make the action look as good as the manga’s reputation demands. The early international screenings suggest there is confidence behind the project. Now it just has to turn that confidence into an anime that can cut through the enormous amount of competition waiting in 2027.
