Kiki's Delivery Service (魔女の宅急便) is getting a small, warmly lit centrepiece for fans of Jiji. Benelic's Donguri Closet will release the exclusive Kiki's Delivery Service Mini Lamp: Gazing Jiji in Japan on 31 October, with the character posed beside an oil-lamp-inspired light.

The product is based on the small lamp at Osono's house in Kiki's Delivery Service. Its floral, ceramic-style body and warm-toned base give it an antique look, while Jiji watches the light from the side. A touch sensor turns the lamp on and off, making the design both a display piece and a usable bedside or living-room light.

Benelic lists the lamp at ¥13,200 including tax. It measures 112mm wide, 128mm high and 82mm deep, and uses polyester resin, glass and ABS. The company says it will be available from Donguri Closet corners inside Ghibli shops across Japan, including locations in Sapporo, Tokyo, Ikebukuro, Nagoya, Osaka and Hakata, as well as the Donguri Republic Sora no Ue online shop.

The official campaign image makes the appeal clear: Jiji is arranged beside the floral lamp on an ornate pedestal, with the glass chimney and glowing bulb forming the visual centre. It is a decorative take on a familiar Kiki's Delivery Service detail rather than a replica designed to dominate a room.

Benelic's announcement places the product within Donguri Closet's wider focus on Studio Ghibli heroines and objects that fit into everyday life. This is not just character merchandise with Jiji printed on it, but a functional light built around a recognisable prop from the film.

Our opinion

The strongest part of the Mini Lamp: Gazing Jiji is its restraint. The character, floral lamp and antique-style base are treated as one scene, which should make the piece feel more like a small display object than a novelty light. The ¥13,200 price puts it firmly in collector territory, but the touch control gives the design a practical reason to earn space beyond a shelf. Whether that value holds will depend on finish quality and brightness in person; for now, the official images show a thoughtfully composed piece with a clear Kiki's Delivery Service identity.

The lamp launches on 31 October in Japan. Benelic says it is licensed by Studio Ghibli, and availability is limited to the listed Donguri Closet retail locations and online shop.
