Toei Animation Europe has confirmed that Le Collège Noir will return for a second season on October 31, 2026, giving the French supernatural series a Halloween premiere date.1
What we know
Created by Ulysse Malassagne and produced by Studio La Cachette in co-production with Toei Animation, the series follows five teenagers at a remote boarding school in the Cantal region as they encounter strange supernatural events.1 Season 2 is expected to continue its blend of mystery, adventure, horror and dark humour, with the new announcement promising deeper mysteries and expanded character arcs.1
The season will be available through ADN in France and RTS in Switzerland. Peppermint Anime has also licensed it for German-speaking territories, including Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, German-speaking Switzerland and South Tyrol in Italy.1
An official trailer for Le Collège Noir is available from Studio La Cachette, the series’ production studio, and gives a useful taste of its eerie folklore-inspired atmosphere.2
Our opinion
A Halloween launch is an unusually neat fit for a show built around rural mysteries and supernatural threats. The announcement is light on plot specifics, but the mix of a clear date, confirmed regional platforms and a distinctive creative identity makes Season 2 one to watch for anime fans who prefer atmospheric European animation to another franchise sequel.1
