Medalist Christmas cakes arrive with character badges

PRIROLL’s officially licensed Medalist Christmas cakes feature 17 character designs and include a matching tin badge with every order.

Official PRIROLL Medalist Christmas cake featuring Inori Yuitsuka with a Merry Christmas design

The Medalist Christmas campaign has arrived in the form of character cakes, with PRIROLL taking reservations for its 2026 Xmas Pre-Cake range. The officially licensed promotion puts the series’ skaters on 5-inch cakes and includes a matching character badge with every order.12

The range is tied to Medalist, the figure-skating manga and anime created by Tsurumaikada. The story follows young skater Inori Yuitsuka and coach Tsukasa Akeuraji as they work towards the competitive ice, with rivals and teammates including Hikaru Ransaki, Jun Yodaka and the wider Meitsuko skating cast. The anime’s second season aired from January to March 2026, while the Medalist film is scheduled to open in Japan on 19 February 2027.1

PRIROLL’s official collection lists 17 individual character designs. The line-up includes Inori Yuitsuka, Tsukasa Akeuraji, Hikaru Ransaki, Jun Yodaka, Rio Totoru, Shinichiro Totoru, Yuna Yagi, Rinna Sarugawa, Aika Roba, Yotsuba Ushikawa, Kurumi Hanarezu, Sakina Anaguma, Sana Niwatori, Hina Niwatori, Iruka Okazaki, Miku Ahibiru and Sho Uobuchi.2

The cakes use edible-ink character artwork and come with a purchase bonus: one matching tin badge for each cake ordered. Customers can choose between whipped cream with strawberries and chocolate cream with strawberries. PRIROLL says the cake is a five-inch round cake measuring 15 centimetres across and 7 centimetres high, with frozen delivery handled by Yamato Transport.12

The official product listing gives the standard price as ¥5,886 including tax. The report announcing the campaign lists a five per cent promotional price of ¥5,591, before the separate refrigerated-delivery charge. Buyers can select a delivery date at checkout, but PRIROLL warns that Christmas-period shipping can be affected by seasonal congestion and weather. The cakes are made to order, cannot be cancelled or returned after the order is confirmed, and should be kept frozen at -18C or below until they are ready to thaw.12

PRIROLL’s product page also notes that the printed design is an image and that the finished decoration or colours may differ from the promotional photograph. That matters here because the hero image is a campaign example rather than a guarantee of the exact decoration delivered. The official image nevertheless clearly shows the product itself: a cream-covered cake with Inori’s smiling character portrait, a pink design and a “MERRY CHRISTMAS” message.2

For international fans, the main practical limitation is availability. The official listing is a Japanese storefront, and the page specifies domestic refrigerated delivery arrangements rather than promising worldwide shipping. Anyone outside Japan should check the current checkout options and delivery terms before treating the campaign as an accessible import. The order window and available delivery dates should also be checked on the individual product page, rather than assumed from the announcement alone.2

Our opinion

This is a straightforward piece of licensed Medalist merchandise, but it is a better fit for the series than a generic branded cake would have been. The character-by-character range gives fans a choice of favourite rather than forcing every buyer into a single group visual, while the matching badge makes the bonus feel connected to the product instead of being an unrelated giveaway.

The strongest part of the campaign is the range’s clarity. PRIROLL states what the buyer gets, shows the character options, gives the cake dimensions and explains the frozen-delivery process. The caveats are equally important: the image is illustrative, shipping costs extra, and a Japanese order page does not automatically mean international delivery. In other words, the cakes look like a fun seasonal purchase for Medalist fans who can order within the service area, but overseas readers should confirm delivery before getting carried away by the character art.

With the anime film still on the horizon, the timing is obvious. This is Christmas merchandise rather than a major new development for the story itself, yet it gives the series a visible seasonal presence and extends the cast into a very literal celebration. The matching badge is the detail likely to do most of the work for collectors; the cake is temporary, while the small character extra can stay on a shelf long after Christmas.
