Super Kaguya-hime Christmas cakes add character art and bonus badges

PRIROLL’s licensed Super Kaguya-hime Christmas cakes come with character artwork, a matching badge and a choice of cream fillings.

Official PRIROLL Super Kaguya-hime Christmas cake featuring Kaguya character artwork

A new PRIROLL Christmas cake range is bringing Super Kaguya-hime! (超かぐや姫!) to the dinner table, with licensed character artwork, a matching bonus badge and a choice of cream fillings. The cakes are already available to reserve through the official PRIROLL shop, giving fans a seasonal way to celebrate the Netflix and cinema anime while its theatrical encore approaches.12

What is included

The range is built around the film’s cast, including Kaguya, Iroha Sakeyori, Yachiyo Tsukimi, Akira Mikado, Rai Komazawa, Noi Komazawa, Roka Ayatsumugi and Mami Isayama. PRIROLL lists regular and newly drawn designs, making 16 variations in total. Each cake comes with one character badge matching the design ordered, so the promotion is more than a decorative image on a standard dessert.1

The official product page shows a five-inch cake with a printed edible illustration. Buyers can choose either whipped cream with strawberries or chocolate cream with strawberries. PRIROLL says the cakes are made to order, shipped frozen by Yamato, and should be thawed in a refrigerator for roughly four to six hours before being eaten within 24 hours.1

The listed price is ¥5,886 including tax, while the Anime! Anime! report says the early reservation price is ¥5,591, with cold-delivery postage charged separately. The product page also warns that the promotional image is an example and that colour or decoration may vary from the finished cake.12

A seasonal extension of the film

Super Kaguya-hime! is an original animated feature set in the virtual world of Tsukuyomi, where music, livestream culture and social media shape the story of its young characters. The film streamed on Netflix from January and later reached Japanese cinemas. Anime! Anime! reports that its initial run eventually passed 1.34 million admissions and ¥2.7 billion in box office revenue, with a 4DX and 4DX Screen encore scheduled from 6 November.2

That context makes the PRIROLL campaign a timely piece of franchise merchandising rather than a random food tie-in. It uses the film’s character identity directly, while the limited Christmas framing gives the promotion a clear reason to exist now. Fans can browse the official range through PRIROLL’s Super Kaguya-hime! collection page.1

Our opinion

This is exactly the sort of licensed collaboration that works because the product and the property meet in the middle. The cakes are immediately recognisable as Super Kaguya-hime! merchandise, the badge adds a collectible reason to order, and the 16-design spread gives fans a meaningful choice instead of one generic logo. The practical catch is that the price does not include cold-delivery postage, and the cake is made to order, so anyone tempted should read the delivery and storage conditions before paying. Still, as a Christmas promotion, it is unusually coherent: the artwork, dessert and small collectible all support the same fan-focused idea.
