Pole Princess!! -Croix du Nord- will screen for a limited two-week run in six Japanese cinemas from 29 January 2027, with the new CG pole-dance show expanding the anime project with five new songs and a new character.1

What has been announced

The official site says the roughly 60-minute film will play at Sapporo Cinema Frontier, Shinjuku Wald 9, Yokohama Burg 13, Midland Square Cinema, T-Joy Umeda and T-Joy Hakata. It is an event screening rather than a general release, and the announcement does not confirm an overseas run.1

The project follows the four members of Galaxy Princess after the Pole Dance Japan Cup. Their next challenge begins when Yuka Mikoshira, the champion associated with Eldan-ge, invites them to appear as guests at a stage show. The new production adapts five songs from the Shining Pole Song Album into a fresh story running for about an hour.1

A new character joins the cast

The announcement also introduces Luchika Hiyori (姫織ルチカ), a mysterious girl with a connection to Azumi. She appears suddenly before Hinano and the others, although the official synopsis is keeping her role deliberately vague.1

The returning creative team includes director Hitomi Ezoe, writer Tōko Machida, CG director Yoshihiro Otobe, character designer tomari and animation studio Tatsunoko Production. The voice cast includes Rio Tsuchiya, Anna Suzuki, Yui Ogura, Minami Hinata, Yoshino Nanjō, Rina Hidaka, Saori Hayami and Rie Kugimiya.1

Our opinion

A two-week cinema run makes Pole Princess!! -Croix du Nord- feel more like a special event than a conventional sequel, which suits a project built around performance. The strongest hook here is not simply another collection of songs: the Eldan-ge stage invitation and Luchika’s unexplained connection give the CG showcase a new story to carry between its set pieces. The limited Japanese booking means overseas fans should not assume a wider release is coming, but the six-theatre rollout at least gives the new production a clear theatrical identity.
