Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 sets 7 October premiere with one-hour special

Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 has a proper date, a new trailer and a one-hour opening special. The anime returns on 7 October 2026, with the new promotional video also previewing MADKID’s opening theme, “Unbroken”.

The series has been waiting long enough that the bird wizard at its centre might reasonably have started charging consultancy fees. Instead, it is coming back with a new director, additional cast members and another round of interdimensional trouble.

What's actually going on

Season 2 premieres in Japan on 7 October 2026 with a one-hour special. Yushi Ibe takes over as director, assisted by Yamato Ochi, while Deko Akao returns for series composition. Saori Nakashiki becomes character designer, and SILVER LINK. is again handling animation production.

Tasuku Hatanaka and Yu Sasahara join the cast, while MADKID performs the opening theme “Unbroken”. The new trailer previews the song and offers a look at the season’s returning fantasy cast and visual style.

The light novels are written by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku. Yen Press has licensed the light novel and manga in English, while Crunchyroll streams the anime. Those English-language arrangements remain the useful international detail, but the new announcement itself confirms the Japanese broadcast date rather than a new global launch window.

Why you should care

A one-hour premiere is a meaningful vote of confidence for a returning show, particularly one balancing office-worker satire, fantasy adventure and a deceptively powerful pet bird. The staff changes also give Season 2 a slightly different creative shape without throwing away the production team that built the first season.

Our opinion

A magical bird, a tired salaryman and a one-hour return? That is a much better argument for coming back than another vague key visual and a promise that news is “coming soon”. The Japanese date is locked; international viewers can now start asking Crunchyroll the only question that matters: when do we get it?
