Shiba Inu Rooms manga gets TV anime in summer 2027
Esu Omori’s Shiba Inu Rooms manga is becoming a TV anime in summer 2027, with its lead cast and TMS Entertainment staff now confirmed.
Wright Film has announced that Esu Omori’s Shiba Inu Rooms manga is being adapted into a television anime, with the series scheduled to debut in summer 2027.1
The announcement introduces a supernatural flatshare with a distinctly canine twist. High-school student Kori Momose moves into an apartment and discovers that it is haunted by Mu, a Shiba Inu ghost. The pair initially clash, but the setup leaves room for the story to develop into an unlikely friendship as they learn to live together.1
Niina Nakabayashi will voice Kori, while Mutsumi Tamura will play Mu. Osamu Yamasaki is directing the adaptation at TMS Entertainment, and Rio is handling character designs. The production announcement does not yet include an exact premiere date, broadcaster, streaming service or territory information.1
The anime was announced around November 1’s Wan Wan Wan Day, a date built around “wan”, the Japanese sound for a dog’s bark. That gives the reveal a playful promotional hook, but the important news is the confirmation of the adaptation and its first production details.1
Viz Media publishes Shiba Inu Rooms in English, and the manga is also available digitally through MANGA Plus. The series began as a one-shot in 2023 before becoming a Shonen Jump+ serial in June 2024. Shueisha is due to publish its ninth volume on November 4, giving readers a chance to meet Kori and Mu before the anime arrives.1
Our opinion
A ghostly Shiba Inu is an immediately readable hook, and the announcement has enough concrete information to make this more than a title reveal: the lead cast, director, studio and character designer are all confirmed. The lack of a specific broadcast date or trailer means there is still plenty left to learn, but Shiba Inu Rooms already has a clear identity that should make it easy to follow as more details emerge.
