Jun Mochizuki’s Pandora Hearts manga is returning to the stage with a third musical adaptation, PandoraHearts Retrace III -Reverse corte-. The production will run at Theater H in Tokyo from September 17 to 26, 2027, before moving to Sankei Hall Breeze in Osaka from October 2 to 3. 12

Marvelous has confirmed Akira Yamazaki will return to direct and write the script, with Ako Takahashi handling lyrics and Harumi Fuuki composing the music. Kazan Yokoyama is also returning to play Oz Vessalius. 12

The announcement is accompanied by an official trailer from MarvelousAVCH, which confirms the 2027 Tokyo and Osaka performances. The trailer is currently unavailable in the United States, according to the announcement coverage, but its release provides the first promotional look at the third stage production. 13

PandoraHearts Retrace III -Reverse corte- follows the second stage musical, PandoraHearts Retrace II -madness of lost memory-, which ran in Tokyo and Kobe in October 2026. The first stage production opened in Tokyo in November 2025, making the new show the latest instalment in a continuing theatrical adaptation rather than a one-off revival. 2

Mochizuki’s original Pandora Hearts manga launched in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine in 2006 and concluded in 2015 after 24 collected volumes. The manga’s earlier stage adaptations have kept its theatrical run moving more than a decade after the original series ended. 2

Our opinion

A third stage musical suggests Pandora Hearts has found a surprisingly durable theatrical life. The production is not being announced as a nostalgic standalone event: it has a returning creative team, a returning lead performer and a clear place in an ongoing sequence of adaptations. That continuity should matter to fans who have followed the story from the first stage show. The awkward part for international readers is access. The new trailer is region-limited, and the currently announced performances are in Japan. Even so, the announcement gives the adaptation a clear 2027 shape, with enough returning talent to make Retrace III more than a title card and a date.
