Sirotan anime will premiere on TV Asahi on 3 October

The short-form Sirotan anime has an exact Japanese broadcast date, but no overseas streaming deal yet.

Sirotan has a date with Japanese television. The short-form anime based on Creative Yoko’s seal mascot will begin broadcasting on TV Asahi on 3 October at 4:29 p.m. JST.

The official website has also revealed the main cast and staff, turning a previously vague mascot project into a properly scheduled autumn appointment.

What's actually going on

The series will air in TV Asahi’s new PicoAni short-anime block. Aoi Yūki voices Sirotan, with Miyu Hanasaki as Rakkoinu, Rina Hidaka as Sheru and Riyo Iwai as Ramune.

Lesprit handles animation. Arisa Okada directs, Sei Yoshitsuki oversees and writes the series scripts, and TV Asahi and Shinei Animation produce the project.

The 4:29 p.m. listing is a Japanese local broadcast time. No English-language streaming service or overseas distributor has been announced, so it should not be presented as a confirmed international release.

Why you should care

Mascot anime can be dangerously easy to underestimate. The best ones understand that a soft, simple character needs a strong rhythm and a clear emotional purpose, not just a parade of merchandise-friendly reaction shots.

TV Asahi is giving Sirotan a dedicated short-anime slot, which suggests the broadcaster sees value in keeping the format quick and accessible. Whether it becomes a genuine comfort watch will depend on what the episodes do with that limited running time.

Our opinion

A precise premiere time and a friendly cast make Sirotan easy to root for. We just wish the international picture were less foggy. For now, this is a Japanese broadcast announcement, not a worldwide streaming launch.

Recommendation: keep it on the autumn anime radar, especially if TV Asahi or a licensed platform later confirms access outside Japan.
