An official The Apothecary Diaries osechi collaboration pairs an 18-item Japanese and Western feast with an original Maomao and Jinshi acrylic stand.

The Apothecary Diaries (薬屋のひとりごと) is getting an unusually elaborate food collaboration: an official osechi box inspired by Maomao and Jinshi, complete with an original acrylic stand featuring newly drawn artwork. The two-person “Japanese and Western appetiser one-tier box” contains 18 dishes and is priced at 19,440 yen including tax.1

The collaboration comes from Itochu Foods, whose official product page describes it as the first official osechi made with the TV anime. The food is designed to reflect the series’ imperial court setting, with colour, presentation and ingredients chosen to evoke its world. The box is delivered on 30 December 2026, although the seller warns that delivery is unavailable to some parts of Hokkaido, Okinawa and remote islands.1

The menu mixes familiar New Year fare with more stylised dishes. Listed examples include simmered abalone with genovese sauce and bottarga, bamboo shoot and octopus with mustard sauce, roast chicken in a palace-inspired style, and braised pork with black-vinegar sauce and diamond decoration.1

At the centre of the box is a katabami-shaped chocolate plate intended to evoke Maomao, while a pale-purple white-chocolate mousse represents Jinshi. Anime! Anime! also reports that the set includes dishes for two people and an acrylic stand using original artwork of the pair enjoying the osechi together.2

The official shop page confirms that the product is a collaboration with the TV anime and that the acrylic stand is included. It also lists the allergen information, including wheat, eggs, milk, shellfish, soy, chicken and pork, so this is a themed food order that needs the same practical checking as any other delivery purchase.1

Our opinion

This collaboration works because it treats the series as a setting rather than merely printing a logo on a box. The menu, colours and character references give the osechi a recognisable The Apothecary Diaries identity, while the acrylic stand gives collectors something permanent after the food has been eaten. The high price and delivery restrictions will narrow the audience, but for fans planning a themed New Year celebration, an 18-item meal built around Maomao and Jinshi is far more distinctive than another generic character snack box.
