Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru is getting a new range of character merchandise in Japan this week, with Taito's no-lose lottery putting the anime's 10th anniversary at the centre of its prize line-up. The lottery launches at participating Lawson and Ministop shops, hobby stores and bookshops from 30 October, while stock lasts. 12

What is launching

The Taito Kuji Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru 10th Anniversary collection is built around newly drawn illustrations of the anime's sword warriors. Taito's official product page confirms the collaboration and its limited artwork, while the launch information lists a price of ¥770 per draw. 12

The anime is a spin-off of the Touken Ranbu franchise, which began as a training simulation game about famous swords brought to life as warriors. Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru follows the characters' everyday life at a citadel, balancing gentle domestic scenes with the larger series' historical battles. The new lottery is leaning into that warmer side rather than presenting another combat-focused collection.

What the lottery includes

The headline prizes are three visual clear boards. The first pairs Yamatonokami Yasusada and Kashuu Kiyomitsu beneath cherry blossoms, while the second features Mitsutada Shokudaikiri and Heshikiri Hasebe preparing food. The third brings together Kunihiro Yamanbagiri and Chougi Yamanbagiri, echoing the series' character-focused humour.

The remaining line-up includes a photo album, three designs of round pouch, four character mascots, eight randomly distributed clear keyholders and 15 bromide-card designs. The final ticket prize is a foil-stamped visual clear board featuring Kashuu Kiyomitsu and Yamatonokami Yasusada in a special design. 2

Taito is also offering purchase bonuses tied to the number and type of items bought. Customers spending at least ¥3,300 receive an A5 clear file, while main dishes, desserts, side items and drinks in the associated campaign each unlock different bonus goods. Those extras make the collection more than a simple randomised prize draw, particularly for fans trying to build a complete character set.

The lottery is scheduled to begin on Friday 30 October 2026, with prizes available while supplies last. Participating shops and stock levels may vary, so fans should check locally rather than assume every listed retailer will carry the full range. 12

Our opinion

This is a sensible anniversary collection because it understands what makes Hanamaru distinct. The strongest designs are not simply the biggest character portraits: they show the cast cooking, posing together and recreating the series' playful relationships. That gives the merchandise a clear identity beyond the anniversary label.

The random distribution will still be frustrating for anyone chasing one particular character, and the ¥770 price can rise quickly when several draws are needed. Even so, the mix of practical goods, display pieces and character-focused art gives the lottery a more coherent shape than a collection built entirely around interchangeable badges. For Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru fans in Japan, the 30 October launch is a straightforward anniversary drop to watch, with the limited artwork likely to be the main draw.
