Twisted Sisters manga will end with its 11th volume

Kazumi Yamashita's Twisted Sisters manga will conclude with its 11th volume, due in early spring 2027 before the live-action adaptation arrives.

Twisted Sisters (ツイステッド・シスターズ), Kazumi Yamashita’s family drama manga, will end with its 11th collected volume. The announcement appeared in the 10th volume, which went on sale in Japan this week, with the final book scheduled to ship in early spring 2027. 1

The series follows Rikako, a manga artist who returns to her estranged sisters after their father’s will orders the five siblings to live together in one mansion. The arrangement also brings a previously unknown sister into the family, turning a difficult reunion into a much bigger mystery.

Yamashita launched the manga in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in June 2021. The publisher’s official series page identifies the work as Twisted Sisters and credits Yamashita as its creator. 2 The ending announcement therefore closes a run of roughly six years, while leaving the series’ planned conclusion ahead of the live-action adaptation announced earlier this year.

That adaptation is scheduled to debut in January 2027. The manga and television series are separate releases, but the timing gives readers a reason to catch up with the source material before the adaptation arrives. Yen Press publishes Yamashita’s work in English, although the final Japanese volume’s English release has not been announced in the source material reviewed for this report. 1

What the announcement means

The news is a conclusion announcement rather than a cancellation notice. The 11th volume has been identified as the final collected book, and a spring shipping window has been given, but an exact release date was not stated. Readers should therefore treat early spring 2027 as the current schedule rather than a firm day on the calendar.

The announcement also leaves the manga’s live-action connection intact. Twisted Sisters is already being adapted for television, with the series due in January, so the source manga’s ending could give the production a complete story to draw from — although no adaptation plans beyond the announced debut have been disclosed.

Our opinion

This is the kind of manga ending announcement that matters because it gives the story a destination without pretending to reveal how it gets there. A family drama built around five estranged sisters, a hidden sibling and a forced mansion reunion has plenty of room for a messy final act, and the early-spring timetable suggests readers will not be waiting indefinitely for the conclusion. The live-action series adds timely interest, but the manga’s own ending should remain the headline: the source material is reaching its finish before the adaptation begins.

For now, the sensible watch point is the exact publication date for volume 11 and any further information about the English edition. Until those details arrive, the confirmed facts are simple: Twisted Sisters will finish with its 11th volume, and the television adaptation is planned for January 2027.
