Official Wound & Bandage anime promotional visual with its cast

The Wound & Bandage anime has revealed its third theme visual and teaser PV, adding voice actors Yuka Iguchi and Yōko Hikasa to the cast ahead of its January 2027 broadcast.1

The new cast

Iguchi will play Magical Penpengusa, while Hikasa will voice Matsu Daemon. Both characters are part of the Bandage Alliance community, whose members share Riyo’s unusual fascination with seeing strong people become vulnerable.1

The official announcement describes the third visual as a gathering of the online community’s members, with Riyo appearing under the handle Wamp Samurai. The teaser PV, titled “Friends”, previews the group’s chaotic interactions and includes a line from Kiriya suggesting that he may be becoming a Yowarer — the story’s term for someone with the same fixation.1

The TV anime is scheduled to premiere on 9 January 2027 in ABC and TV Asahi’s Animazing!!! block, with AT-X also carrying the series. ABEMA is due to stream episodes 30 minutes after the ABC and TV Asahi broadcast. No international platform has been confirmed in the announcement.1

The production is based on Umihoshi Nanai’s manga Kizuguchi to Hōtai (傷口と包帯). J.C. Staff is animating the series, with Miyuki Ishida directing, Susumu Yamakawa handling the scripts and Natsuki Ōyama designing the characters.1

Our opinion

Wound & Bandage is clearly leaning into a very specific kind of absurdity, and this update understands that the cast is part of the appeal. Iguchi and Hikasa bring instantly recognisable voices to two characters embedded in the Bandage Alliance’s strange social orbit, while the “Friends” visual suggests the anime is more interested in group chemistry than a simple hero-and-rivals setup. The January date is firm enough to plan around, but viewers outside Japan will still need an international streaming announcement before they can do the same.
