After War Gundam X celebrates 30 years with Premium Goods Set
Bandai’s PB04 bundle celebrates After War Gundam X with exclusive cards, accessories and a storage box for Gundam Card Game collectors.
After War Gundam X is turning 30, and Bandai is marking the anniversary with a new Gundam Card Game Premium Goods Set now offered through Premium Bandai. The PB04 set brings the series into a collector-focused bundle rather than treating the anniversary as a bare logo exercise.1
What is in the set
The official product announcement lists newly illustrated cards alongside a card case, card sleeves, a rubber playmat and a storage box. The package itself can hold cards, giving the set a practical use beyond display. The official Japanese listing puts the price at 9,900 yen, with a one-per-person limit on orders.1
The set was also promoted for overseas buyers through Bandai’s regional Premium Bandai stores. The Corpus source reports a US price of $89.99 and a May 2027 shipping window, while the Japanese listing gives a March 2027 schedule. Availability is first come, first served after the earlier US lottery window, so the remaining stock is the important detail for collectors rather than a promise of unlimited supply.2
Why this matters for Gundam X
After War Gundam X first aired in 1996 and became the final entry in the 1990s alternate-universe trio that also included Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Its post-apocalyptic setting, Newtype mythology and Satellite Cannon gave it a distinct identity, even though its original broadcast was cut short.
The PB04 artwork leans into that identity, pairing character and mobile-suit illustrations with a darker purple-and-gold box design. It is a more considered celebration than a generic anniversary badge: the set is built around the show’s cast and machines, while still fitting into the wider Gundam Card Game ecosystem.1
Our opinion
This is exactly the sort of anniversary merchandise that makes sense for a cult series. The playmat and storage box give the bundle a job on the tabletop, while the dedicated artwork makes it feel specific to After War Gundam X rather than interchangeable Gundam stock. The price and limited supply will keep it firmly in collector territory, but the official contents do at least explain what fans are paying for.
