Toworu Miyata’s Aoharu Once More BL manga gets a light anime
Toworu Miyata’s boys-love manga Aoharu Once More is becoming the third light-anime project from BALLOON, with no release date or cast announced yet.

Toworu Miyata’s boys-love manga Aoharu Once More is getting a light-anime adaptation as the third project from the BALLOON label.
The announcement comes from BALLOON, the boys-love label created by Dai Nippon Printing, CYBIRD and BLUE RIGHTS. It confirms the adaptation is in production, but no release date, episode count, cast or streaming platform has been announced.
A softer route into animation
Rikako Machida, known for series composition on Saved by the Ice Cold Prince’s Embrace, is directing the project at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio. Morrigan of WAVE is composing the music, while Kazuya Takahashi is credited with production supervision.
The original manga follows Hayato Kobayashi, who dreams about his high-school days and the beautiful Ritsu Onishi. TOKYOPOP has licensed the manga in English, and ShuCream released its first collected volume in June 2025.
What “light anime” means here
BALLOON’s light-anime format is designed to create animation on a lower-cost, faster schedule than a traditional production workflow. The label’s first project premiered in January, while its second adaptation, Perfect Addiction, debuted in July.
That production model does not automatically tell us how long Aoharu Once More will be, where it will stream or how much animation it will contain. Those details remain unconfirmed, and the announcement should not be read as a traditional full television-series order.
Our opinion
A BL manga about old school memories and a dazzling smile is already bringing the emotional weather forecast. The light-anime format could suit a character-led romance if the production keeps the focus on atmosphere and chemistry rather than rushing through the awkward bits that make these stories work. For now, the creator and label are the draw; we need a trailer and cast before the butterflies can start filing paperwork.
