Apothecary Diaries Season 3 English Dub Starts October 16
The Apothecary Diaries Season 3’s English dub starts on Crunchyroll on October 16, with Emi Lo and Kaiji Tang leading a weekly release.
The Apothecary Diaries (薬屋のひとりごと) Season 3’s English dub begins on Crunchyroll on Friday, October 16, with new dubbed episodes arriving weekly. Crunchyroll is producing the dub, which gives English-speaking viewers another way into Maomao and Jinshi’s latest palace mysteries.
The English dub cast
Emi Lo returns as Maomao, while Kaiji Tang voices Jinshi. The first dubbed episode also features Alex Hom as Gaoshun, Ricco Fajardo as Lakan, Caleb Yen as Lahan, Alex Mai as the Emperor, Monica Rial as Ah-Duo and the narrator, Reshel Mae as Lishu, Charles Nguyen as Rikuson, Suzie Yeung as Shisui and Rebecca Danae as Meimei.
Jad Saxton voices the White Lady, with Seth Fuentes as Lihaku, Phil Parsons as Gyokuen and Ed Escamilla as Basen. Shawn Gann directs the English dub, with Kevin D. Thelwell assisting as assistant voice director. Susie Nixon is the producer, while Clayton Browning wrote the English adaptation under Macy Anne Johnson’s supervision.
Season 3 is directed by Akinori Fudesaka at OLM, with Wataru Nakagawa as assistant director. Norihiro Naganuma handles series composition, Yukiko Nakatani designs the characters, and Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Penkin and Arisa Okehazama compose the music.
What to expect from Season 3
The English dub arrives after Season 3’s Japanese broadcast began on October 2. Crunchyroll is streaming the current episodes, and the platform says the dubbed release will continue with new episodes each week rather than arriving as a complete batch.
That weekly schedule keeps the dub aligned with the ongoing season while giving viewers who prefer English performances a clear starting point. The series follows Maomao, a sharp-minded palace servant whose knowledge of medicine and poisons repeatedly draws her into court intrigues alongside Jinshi.
The new season follows two earlier 24-episode runs. The first season premiered in 2023, with Season 2 following in 2025. The anime adapts Natsu Hyuuga’s light novels, illustrated by Touko Shino, with J-Novel Club publishing the English digital edition and Square Enix handling the English print release.
Our opinion
A weekly English dub is a sensible way to broaden The Apothecary Diaries’ audience without asking new viewers to wait for an entire season. Emi Lo and Kaiji Tang remain the key draw as Maomao and Jinshi, and the sizeable returning cast should preserve the character-driven rhythm that makes the palace drama work. The release is straightforward rather than a surprise: viewers can begin on October 16, then follow the dub episode by episode on Crunchyroll.
For anyone catching up, Season 3 is already airing in Japanese, while the first English-dubbed episode arrives on Friday. That makes this a good jumping-on point for dub viewers, but not a new premiere for the series itself.
