Black Clover Season 2 Episode 5 preview teases Magna and Zora action
The next Black Clover episode puts Magna and Zora in the spotlight as the Black Bulls take on Dante and Lilith.
Black Clover Season 2 is setting up a clash between Magna and Dante, with Zora joining the Black Bulls’ fight in the preview for Episode 5. The episode, titled “The Ultimate VS The Lowest”, is due to premiere on October 31, according to Anime Corner’s report and the series’ official social account.1
What the preview shows
The synopsis says Asta rushes to Nacht’s aid before fusing with Liebe through Devil Union to confront Lilith. Elsewhere, Magna and Zora arrive to assist Jack as he battles Dante of the Dark Triad, who is using 100% of his devil power.1
Magna’s answer is a new spell he has spent six months developing: Secret Flame Magic: Soul Chain Deathmatch. The preview frames that attack as the episode’s central hook, although Dante’s Body Magic means the Black Bulls’ challenge is far from straightforward.
The episode follows the return of Black Clover Season 2 on October 3. Crunchyroll is streaming the series worldwide, while Studio Pierrot remains responsible for the animation. Ayataka Tanemura directs, with Keiichiro Ochi handling series composition and Itsuko Takeda leading character design.1
Why it matters
This is a focused preview rather than a new announcement about the wider anime. It gives viewers a clear idea of the episode’s split action: Asta’s confrontation with Lilith on one side, and Magna’s long-prepared counterattack against Dante on the other. That makes the October 31 episode particularly important for the Black Bulls’ continuing battle with the Dark Triad.
The preview also gives Magna a direct character moment. His new spell is not presented as a sudden power-up without context; the synopsis specifically ties it to six months of preparation and to the determination that earned Yami’s respect. Whether it can overcome Dante’s Body Magic will be one of the episode’s main questions.
Our opinion
The preview’s strongest choice is its emphasis on Magna and Zora rather than treating them as background support for Asta. A six-month spell with a named technique gives the episode a tangible payoff, while Dante’s overwhelming power keeps the outcome uncertain. If the episode gives that confrontation room to breathe, it could turn a familiar shonen power clash into a meaningful test of how the Black Bulls fight as a team.
