Dandadan and Williams F1 hand their theme song to TWICE's TZUYU
The Atlassian Williams F1 Team's Sector Zero programme has named TWICE's TZUYU as the voice of its DAN DA DAN collaboration, with an original song due in early 2027 ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Dandadan Formula 1 crossover has found its voice. Sector Zero, the Atlassian Williams F1 Team's pop-culture programme, announced on 28 September that TWICE's TZUYU will perform the official theme song for its DAN DA DAN collaboration, with the track due in early 2027 ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.
What has actually been announced
The song is a wholly original piece written for the project rather than a licensed release, and an original music video has also been confirmed. Williams has not yet named the track or set a release date, and says both will follow. The announcement lands as Speed Meets Supernatural moves into its second year: the collaboration began at Suzuka in April 2026 and travelled to Anime Expo in Los Angeles in July, where a special livery car and the first collaboration merchandise appeared.
TZUYU will appear with the team at the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend. Merchandise is already live through Sector Zero Club, headlined by a KOKONE capsule whose centrepiece is a blind-box T-shirt range of four designs, on pre-order until 14 October, with every T-shirt unlocking the option to buy a special-edition Signal Polo.
Why a Formula 1 team is commissioning an anime song
Motorsport has bought its way into anime audiences for years, but a licensed tie-in and an original theme song are different propositions. A theme song has to stand up as music in its own right, and it has to be promoted as music, which is a bigger commitment than a manga panel on an engine cover. It also gives the collaboration a calendar of its own: this one is timed to Suzuka rather than to an episode.
In the release, Williams licensing director Luke Timmins says he could not imagine a better voice for a project built around supernatural speed, and describes TZUYU's involvement as a step beyond motorsport towards audiences worldwide. Hiroshi Kamei, who produces the DAN DA DAN television anime at MBS, says the series is crossing out of anime into Formula 1 and music, and TZUYU says she is honoured to sing it and calls the project three different worlds becoming one. The release also confirms the source material: Yukinobu Tatsu's manga runs on Shonen Jump+, Science SARU handles animation, the 2025 television run was named Netflix's most-watched television anime of that year's second half, and a third season is planned for 2027.
Our opinion
The interesting thing here is not the singer, it is the deadline. A theme song tied to the Japanese Grand Prix rather than to a broadcast slot puts the anime on motorsport's calendar instead of the other way round, and because Sector Zero is a continuing programme rather than a one-off stunt, Williams is clearly counting this in seasons rather than impressions. That is also the risk. By the time the track lands in early 2027 it will share a year with the show's third season, and a song released into someone else's marketing cycle is easy to file as merchandise with a chorus. The blind-box T-shirt run tells you where the money is being made right now, and the polo shirt unlocked only by buying a T-shirt tells you how confident the project is about repeat customers. A crossover that got this far deserves a song released on its own terms, with a title and a date, not as a footnote to a race weekend.
