Fist of the North Star Remaster Comes to Italian Cinemas in November
Nexo Studios will screen a remastered version of the 1986 anime film across three Italian cinema dates, with presales opening on October 30.
Fist of the North Star: The Movie is returning to Italian cinemas in a new remastered edition this autumn, giving the 1986 anime film a three-day big-screen run for its 40th anniversary. Nexo Studios says screenings will take place on November 30, December 1 and December 2, with the original Japanese version and Italian subtitles also available.1
The Italian cinema dates
The remastered film will be shown as part of Nexo Studios Anime al Cinema, in collaboration with Yamato Video. The list of participating cinemas is due to follow, while ticket presales are scheduled to open on October 30.1
The release marks 40 years since the original film reached Japanese cinemas in 1986. It runs for 110 minutes and follows Kenshiro, the wandering master of Hokuto, as he searches for Yuria and confronts Shin. The film also brings him into conflict with his brothers Jagi and Raoh, while adapting the post-apocalyptic world of Buronson and Tetsuo Hara for a feature-length story.1
Nexo’s campaign describes the new version as remastered rather than a new adaptation. Toyoo Ashida returns in the listed director credit, with Masami Suda credited for animation direction and Susumu Takaku credited for the screenplay.1
