Hello Kitty and Happy Socks launch colourful Drop 2 collection
The second Hello Kitty x Happy Socks collection brings two adult sport-sock sets and six kids' designs to Japanese retailers from 23 October.
The second Hello Kitty x Happy Socks collection is now on sale, bringing the Sanrio character's familiar red bow to a new set of colourful everyday socks. Happy Socks describes Drop 2 as a fresh run of styles built around bold colour and Hello Kitty's signature look.1
The Japanese launch includes two adult three-pair sport-sock sets, each priced at ¥5,940. The white, white and black set uses sporty ribbing with Hello Kitty artwork, while a grey, white and black version adds a brighter accent to casual outfits. Both adult sets are sized for feet measuring 23cm to 25.5cm.2
The children's range contains six crew-length designs: Cloudy, Flower, Face, Stripe, Dot, and Stripes & Bows. Each costs ¥1,540, with sizes covering 17cm to 19cm and 19.5cm to 21.5cm. The designs range from a cloud motif to a simple face graphic and ribbon details.2
Where to buy
The collection went on sale in Japan on 23 October. Happy Socks' Lumine Est Shinjuku shop began selling it at 11am, followed by the official online store and official Rakuten shop at noon. Happy Socks' international product page also lists the second drop, including adult gift sets and the children's styles, confirming that this is a broader official campaign rather than a single Japan-only product listing.12
The release follows the first Hello Kitty x Happy Socks collaboration and continues the partnership's deliberately bright approach: recognisable character art, simple wearable colour combinations, and separate adult and children's lines. Sanrio copyright information is displayed with the Japanese launch material.2
Our opinion
This is a straightforward character-fashion collaboration, but the split between sport socks, everyday kids' pairs and gift sets gives Drop 2 a clearer shape than a one-design merchandise release. The strongest detail is the range of visual treatments: fans can choose a subtle face motif or a louder bow-and-stripe look without leaving the same official collection.
The practical takeaway is that the launch is already live, while availability and pricing vary by market. Readers outside Japan should use Happy Socks' official regional store rather than assume the Japanese price or shop timetable applies everywhere.12
