Intention talent agency to dissolve on 31 March 2027
The agency founded by voice actor Kenichi Suzumura will continue managing its talent until the company closes next year.
Intention, the talent agency founded by voice actor Kenichi Suzumura, will dissolve on 31 March 2027, the company has announced.1
Why Intention is closing
The agency said Suzumura's adjustment disorder is the reason for the decision. According to the official notice, doctors diagnosed that his condition would not improve while he continued to take part in management, leading to what Intention described as a difficult decision.1
Intention says its management operations will continue as normal until the dissolution date. The company also said it will provide as much support as possible for its affiliated talent and their future work.1
Anime News Network reports that Suzumura, who founded Intention in 2009, had previously taken a hiatus from voice acting and began a gradual return in June. The agency's roster includes Yūichi Nakamura, Aya Endō, Nao Tōyama and Yūma Uchida, among others.2
The agency's final timeline
Intention's announcement gives the agency roughly five months to continue managing its talent before the company closes. No successor organisation or new management arrangements were announced in the notice.1
Our opinion
Intention's announcement is significant because it separates the agency's corporate future from the immediate work of its performers: management continues for now, even though the company has set a firm dissolution date. The priority should be the practical support promised to its talent, particularly while Suzumura continues to recover and the agency works through the transition.
