Madoka Magica feather pen channels Devil Homura's dark elegance

Movic is taking orders for a £35-style feather pen set inspired by Devil Homura, complete with a dark orb charm, ink and display stand.

Madoka Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ) is getting a piece of merchandise that leans fully into Devil Homura's gothic visual language: Movic's new feather pen set is now open for made-to-order reservations. 1

The set is inspired by Devil Homura's black feather, with a dark orb charm fitted around the base of the pen. It also includes a dedicated ink bottle and a small stand, so the item is designed to work as a display piece as much as a writing tool. Movic's official product page shows the pen staged with its ink and stand, giving the campaign a suitably old-world presentation. 1

What is included

The pen measures roughly 22 centimetres from the shaft to the tip of the feather, while the stand is about 4 centimetres across. The ink bottle is approximately 3 by 4 centimetres and holds 15 millilitres. Movic lists goose feather, alloy, stainless steel and dye ink among the materials, while warning that natural feathers will vary in shape, size, direction and colour. 1

Reservations opened on 23 October and run until 25 November at 11:59pm Japan time. The price is 6,600 yen, with delivery expected around 12 February 2027. The product page also says that orders are limited to five per customer and that images are for illustrative purposes, so the finished item may differ slightly from the promotional photography. 1

Anime Anime identifies the product as a tie-in to the new film Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- and notes that the set is being sold through Movic, Animate and other retailers. 2 That makes this a neat collector-facing extension of the film's identity rather than a new piece of story information: the appeal is the way it turns one of Homura's most recognisable motifs into a usable desk object.

Our opinion

This is exactly the kind of anime merchandise that understands its assignment. The feather, dark orb and ink set are not random logo applications; together they make the product feel like an in-universe prop filtered through a Victorian writing desk. The stand matters here because it lets the black feather remain the visual centrepiece when the pen is not in use.

The caveat is the price: 6,600 yen is collector territory for a pen, and natural-feather variation means no two pieces will look perfectly identical. That is also part of the charm, though, provided buyers approach it as display-led merchandise with a writing function rather than a precision stationery upgrade. For Madoka Magica fans who want Homura's darker aesthetic on the shelf, Movic's design is considerably more thoughtful than a conventional character-print accessory.
