Makeine reveals Toyohashi collaboration visual

Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! has unveiled a new collaboration visual with Toyohashi City, the Aichi Prefecture setting that gives the anime much of its everyday charm.

A new look at Toyohashi

The visual shows the four members of the literature club walking along Toyohashi Station’s main street after school. It was shared by the official Makeine anime account as part of the ongoing partnership between the series and the city.

That setting is more than a backdrop for Makeine. Toyohashi’s streets, station and local landmarks are woven into the series’ sense of place, so a collaboration visual that puts the characters back into the city feels particularly fitting.

A talk stage is planned for October

Toyohashi Festival 2026 will also feature a Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! talk stage on 31 October. Shuichiro Umeda, Hikaru Tono, Shion Wakayama, Momoka Terasawa, Minami Tanaka and Akira Sekine are scheduled to appear. Admission is free, although advance registration is required.

Applications are due to open on 1 October and close on 9 October. If demand exceeds capacity, attendees will be selected by lottery.

Our opinion

This is exactly the sort of collaboration Makeine suits. The series understands that awkward conversations and half-remembered routes can make a place feel romantic, and Toyohashi is not being treated as a disposable backdrop here. The new visual works because it lets the characters simply exist in the city after school — a small, observant idea that feels truer to the anime than a louder promotional pose.
