Naruto Shippuden gets a limited-edition Rakuten card featuring Naruto and Sasuke
Rakuten's limited-edition NARUTO SHIPPUDEN American Express card features Naruto and Sasuke, with the design capped at 10,000 new cardholders.
Naruto Shippuden (NARUTO -ナルト- 疾風伝) is getting a limited-edition Rakuten American Express card design featuring Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, with the offer limited to the first 10,000 new cardholders who accept the card invitation. Rakuten announced the design on 15 October, describing it as a partnership with VIZ Media. 1
A Naruto and Sasuke design for everyday spending
The card artwork puts Naruto and Sasuke together in a battle scene, reflecting the rivalry and eventual loyalty that sit at the centre of their story. The design is available to new cardholders in the United States while supplies last, rather than being a general replacement for the standard Rakuten American Express card. 1 2
Rakuten says the card keeps the existing product's rewards and American Express network benefits. Those include Rakuten Cash Back on eligible purchases, Amex Offers, Amex Experiences and retail protections, subject to the card's terms and eligibility requirements. 1
The release also says the first 10,000 new cardholders who accept their offer can receive the limited-edition NARUTO SHIPPUDEN design. That makes the number a cap on the special design offer, not a claim that only 10,000 cards exist across every possible future reissue. Applications remain subject to approval, and the design is available only to new cardholders. 1
What fans need to know
The collaboration is a piece of licensed merchandise rather than a new anime announcement. Rakuten created the card with VIZ Media, and the promotional artwork is built around the familiar Naruto-Sasuke relationship rather than a new story, episode or character reveal. 1 3
The offer is tied to a financial product, so prospective applicants should check the official card page and the full rewards agreement for eligibility, fees, benefits and exclusions before applying. The anime connection makes the design immediately recognisable, but it does not change the underlying card terms. 1 2
Our opinion
This is a sharper collaboration than the usual logo swap because the card uses Naruto and Sasuke as an actual visual composition, not just a franchise badge in a corner. The 10,000-card limit gives the promotion a clear scarcity hook, while the US-only, new-cardholder conditions keep it firmly in the realm of limited merchandise rather than a mass-market redesign. The important distinction is simple: fans are getting a striking licensed card face, not a new Naruto Shippuden project. 1 3
