Crunchyroll has announced an English dub for the television anime adaptation of Toshiaki Iwashiro’s Psyren manga, with the dub beginning to stream on 19 October 2026. The series originally premiered on 5 October, and the announcement gives viewers outside Japan and China a new way into its supernatural survival story. 12

The announced cast

Dylan Ray Owen will voice Ageha, with Kelly Greenshield as Amamiya and Katelyn Barr as Fubuki. The announced cast also includes Kevin D. Thelwell as Hiroki, Jacob Browning as Miyake, Abigail Blythe as Nemesis Q, Derrick Snow as Okumura, Mauricio Ortiz-Segura as Saka and Daniel Van Thomas as Usui.

Dani Chambers is directing the dub. Zach Bolton is the producer, James Cheek is adapting the script, William Dewell is mixing and Jose Sandoval is the engineer. Crunchyroll’s territory note excludes Japan and China from the worldwide streaming availability. 12

A new route into Psyren

Based on Iwashiro’s manga, Psyren follows Ageha and the people drawn into a dangerous otherworldly conflict after a mysterious telephone card opens the way to Psyren. The anime’s launch gives the adaptation a fresh opportunity to reach viewers who prefer English-language performances, while the subtitled version remains available for audiences who want the original cast.

Crunchyroll’s announcement was independently checked against Anime News Network’s report, which cites the platform’s announcement for the cast, staff, streaming date and territory details. Crunchyroll’s own article was presented through an authentication shell in the retrieval used for this report, so those details are attributed rather than treated as independently confirmed beyond the cross-check. 12

The official trailer below offers a quick look at the series’ ominous visual identity and the threat waiting beyond its ordinary world.

Our opinion

An English dub is a useful second entry point for Psyren, particularly for a series whose premise depends on viewers quickly understanding a strange set of rules and escalating dangers. The cast list is substantial enough to suggest Crunchyroll is treating the adaptation as a proper seasonal release rather than a token catalogue addition. The bigger test will be whether the dub preserves the show’s sense of unease when its characters move from familiar school-life settings into Psyren’s hostile world. For viewers who bounced off subtitles or missed the original launch, this is a timely reason to give the anime another look.
