Wandance live-action film reveals new trailer and For us theme song

The official Wandance live-action film website has released a new trailer package ahead of the film’s 27 November 2026 opening in Japan. The trailer previews &TEAM’s “For us”, the film’s theme song, alongside new footage of the cast performing street-dance sequences. ¹

The new trailer

The campaign centres on Kaboku, a university student who struggles to express himself and finds a way forward through dance. The official site presents JO of &TEAM in the lead role, with Anji Ikehata as Wanda, Kira Yamaguchi as On, RAN of MAZZEL as Iori, TSUKKI as Kabe and Aloha Takamatsu as Usen. The film is adapted from Coffee’s Wandance manga, which follows Kaboku after he encounters Wanda dancing alone. The official introduction says the manga has passed 1.3 million copies in circulation and that a television anime adaptation aired in 2025. &TEAM’s “For us” was written for the film and is described on the official site as a song that reflects Kaboku’s inner feelings as he searches for his own answer. The site also credits origami PRODUCTIONS and GuruConnect with music for the film, while Ed Sheeran’s “Opening” is listed as an insert song. ¹

The promotional material places the music alongside the physicality of the dance rather than treating it as a separate accessory. That matters for Wandance: the story’s central change is Kaboku learning to communicate through movement, so the theme song and performance footage are selling the same emotional idea from two directions.

The absence of an overseas release date is frustrating for international viewers, but the Japanese campaign now gives the film a clearer identity before its 27 November opening.
