Black Clover 2nd Season posts its creditless opening and ending
The second season of Black Clover has published creditless versions of both its themes, arranged a watch-along with the VTuber Oozora Subaru, and dated a Blu-ray for 24 March 2027.
The second season of Black Clover has released creditless versions of both of its themes, the same day the anime returned to Japanese television.
The two themes
The opening is Shinai Riyū by WANIMA and the ending is Yellow Brick Road by ONE OR EIGHT. Both clean cuts are up on the broadcaster's YouTube channel, and they drop the credit roll so the animation in each sequence plays through uninterrupted.
A hololive watch-along
The production has also lined up a collaboration with the VTuber Oozora Subaru, who is signed to Hololive Production and has more than two million YouTube subscribers. She will host a watch-along of the first episode, which aired at 23:00 JST on TV Tokyo and its affiliated stations.
A Blu-ray in March
A Blu-ray release of the second season has been dated for 24 March 2027. The notice describes it as packed with bonuses, but it does not yet list the contents or the price.
Our opinion
Creditless cuts are promotion, and they exist so a label gets a clean asset to push the songs. What makes this pair worth a look is the hostage situation underneath: the opening belongs to WANIMA and the ending to ONE OR EIGHT, two acts the committee is selling as hard as it is selling the show, and the creditless release is the cheapest way to point a fandom at both at once. The stranger choice is the watch-along. Handing a premiere to a VTuber with two million subscribers is an acknowledgement that for a large slice of the audience the reaction is now part of the text, and that a simulcast slot is not where that conversation happens. It is efficient, and it is also the production committee admitting the television premiere no longer starts the conversation. Nothing here is risk. Everything here is reach.
