Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING sequel anime announced
Dr. STONE is continuing beyond the original manga adaptation with a new anime based on the TERRAFORMING sequel story.
A new Dr. STONE sequel anime titled Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING is officially in production, continuing Senku and the Kingdom of Science’s story after the television anime’s conclusion.
The announcement adapts the TERRAFORMING sequel story included in Volume 27 of the original manga. The announcement also arrived with newly recorded dialogue from Senku in an official video.
What we know
The project follows the conclusion of Dr. STONE: SCIENCE FUTURE, which finished the main anime adaptation in June 2026. The sequel is based on material written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, continuing the wider science-fiction adventure beyond the original manga’s ending.
Inagaki said the characters’ scientific adventure was still continuing, while Boichi thanked viewers and asked them to look forward to more updates. A commemorative illustration was also released for the announcement.
The production announcement confirms that Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING is moving forward, but further details such as the studio, staff, cast and release date have not yet been announced.
Our opinion
The announcement gives Dr. STONE a clear route back to television without pretending the original ending did not happen. The most important detail is that TERRAFORMING is a continuation story rather than another retelling of Senku’s completed journey. The next meaningful update will be learning who is animating it and how the sequel will be structured for television.
