Katekyo Hitman Reborn! unveils its eighth ending

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is raiding its own archive again, this time with “CYCLE” by CHERRYBLOSSOM taking centre stage as the anime’s eighth ending. The creditless video is another tidy piece of the series’ 20th-anniversary music celebration — and a welcome excuse to revisit one of anime’s more gloriously overcommitted theme-song eras.

Anime Corner reports that the newly released video uses the song “CYCLE”, which accompanied Episodes 90–101. The upload is part of “REBORN! MUSIC MONTH”, a September-long project celebrating the anime’s 20th anniversary through official online releases.

What’s actually going on

The official video presents the ending without the usual on-screen credits. According to Anime Corner, these creditless theme sequences were previously included with physical releases of the anime but had not been officially available online. The project is releasing past opening and ending sequences daily through the official Katekyo Hitman Reborn! YouTube channel.

The campaign began on September 1 with an official 25-song playlist covering opening themes, ending themes and other music from the television anime. The “CYCLE” release follows the project’s earlier daily uploads, including the seventh ending featuring “Ameato” by W-inds. Anime Corner also notes that the manga by Akira Amano ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from May 2004 to November 2012, finishing with 42 compilation volumes. The television adaptation ran for 203 episodes from October 2006 to September 2010, with Studio Artland handling production.

Why you should care

This is archive material, not a new episode, reboot announcement or secret sequel hiding behind a suspiciously dramatic thumbnail. That does not make it pointless. Theme songs are often stranded on old discs, region-specific releases or unofficial uploads that vanish just when nostalgia gets serious. Putting clean versions on an official channel gives fans a reliable way to revisit the show — and gives newer viewers a neat guided tour through its musical identity.

There is also something pleasingly deliberate about the format. A daily release schedule makes the anniversary feel curated rather than like a single social post and a cake emoji. “CYCLE” arrives from the middle of the anime’s run, when Reborn! was happily throwing action, melodrama and impossible hair into the same blender. The song gets to exist as part of that time capsule instead of being buried in a playlist nobody can find.

Our opinion

This is exactly the sort of anniversary project that earns its keep: official, accessible and genuinely useful to fans. It will not replace a new Katekyo Hitman Reborn! adaptation, but it does make revisiting the original considerably less faff. Keep the music month coming — the archive is doing a better job of building excitement than a vague sequel tease ever could.
