Katekyo Hitman Reborn! unlocks a lost ending

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is raiding its own archive again, this time bringing back the anime’s sixth ending with Lead’s “STAND UP!”. It is another small but welcome piece of the series’ 20th-anniversary music celebration — and one that fans can now watch without digging through old discs or questionable uploads.

Anime Corner reports that the newly released video is a creditless version of the ending used across Episodes 64–76. The upload joins a daily run of official theme-song videos, turning a nostalgia trip into a surprisingly useful archive project.

What's actually going on

The song “STAND UP!” by Lead accompanied Episodes 64–76 of the television anime. The official video was released as part of “REBORN! MUSIC MONTH”, a September-long project celebrating the anime’s 20th anniversary. According to Anime Corner, the campaign is publishing creditless versions of past theme sequences daily on the official YouTube channel.

The sequences had previously been included with physical releases but had not been officially available online. The campaign began on September 1 with a 25-song playlist covering openings, endings and other music from the TV anime. The latest upload follows the fourth opening featuring LM.C’s “88”, which was released the previous day.

The wider series began as Akira Amano’s manga in Weekly Shonen Jump, running from May 2004 to November 2012 and ending with 42 compilation volumes. Studio Artland’s television adaptation ran for 203 episodes from October 2006 to September 2010.

Why you should care

This is not a new episode, sequel announcement or stealth reboot hiding behind a dramatic thumbnail. It is archive material, but archive material that solves a real fan problem. Theme songs are often trapped on old DVDs, region-specific releases or disappearing uploads. Putting the clean sequences on an official channel gives viewers a dependable place to revisit them.

It also gives the anniversary a bit more shape than one social-media post and a cake emoji. A daily release schedule makes the project feel curated, while newer viewers get a quick tour through the show’s musical identity. “STAND UP!” arrives from the run’s more action-heavy stretch, when Reborn! was very committed to explosions, melodrama and hair that appeared to have its own stunt coordinator.

Our opinion

This is exactly the sort of anniversary project that earns its keep: official, easy to access and genuinely useful to fans. It will not replace a new Katekyo Hitman Reborn! adaptation, but it does make revisiting the original considerably less faff. Keep the playlist coming — and perhaps let the archive do the teasing before anyone starts promising a sequel.
