Marvel and Kadokawa launch five manga in Japan
Five Marvel manga have launched on Kadokawa’s KadoComi service in Japan, with preview chapters now available on the official label page.
Marvel and Kadokawa have launched five new manga on Japan’s KadoComi service, bringing Iron Man, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen and Venom into a new publishing partnership. The official Marvel × KADOKAWA × KadoComi label page lists the titles and provides the first part of each opening chapter. 1
The five launches
The line-up includes Iron Man: I Am Iron Man The Manga by TERU, Spider-Man: Shibuya Cross Line by tokitokoro, Deadpool: Millionaire With a Mouth The Manga by Hōsuke Momoi, Spider-Gwen: Her Big Debut The Manga by Ryūsei Yamada and Venom: Lethal Protector The Manga by Peperon. 1
These are manga releases on KadoComi in Japan. The launch does not, on the evidence currently available, confirm an anime adaptation, an international release or worldwide availability, so readers outside Japan should not assume the chapters are accessible in their territory.
What happens next
The official label page is currently the clearest source for the launch and its opening previews. It establishes the five titles and their creators, but does not by itself announce a wider Marvel anime project or a confirmed overseas publication plan.
Our opinion
A five-title launch gives Marvel’s Japanese publishing push more weight than a single tie-in comic, particularly because the line-up covers several of its most recognisable heroes and villains. The useful detail is the narrowness of the announcement: this is a Japanese KadoComi manga launch, not yet a promise of anime adaptations or a global rollout. Keeping that distinction clear makes the news more interesting, not less.
