Peanuts package charms launch in Japan with eight Snoopy designs
Bandai’s new Japanese snack pairs chocolate-coated bolo with eight collectible Peanuts package charms, including Snoopy, Woodstock and Charlie Brown.
Bandai has launched a new Peanuts snack product in Japan that pairs chocolate-coated bolo sweets with collectible package charms featuring Snoopy and his friends. The Peanuts -Snoopy- Package Charm & Choco Bolo went on sale on 26 October at shops including supermarkets and other retailers.
The range contains eight possible charm designs: Snoopy, Joe Cool, Beagle Scout, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Sally, Lucy and Linus. Each small figure is sealed inside a package-style charm, with character information and short Peanuts stories printed on the reverse. The official SNOOPY.co.jp announcement also highlights a small treasure-hunt detail: some packaging includes numbers linked to the characters’ first comic appearances.
Each purchase contains one of the eight charms alongside an 18-gram portion of chocolate-coated bolo. Bandai lists the price at ¥396 including tax. The product is aimed at the Japanese confectionery aisle rather than specialist character-goods shops, so availability will depend on local stock and the retailer’s decision to carry the range.
The official announcement presents the product as a snack-time collectible, with the charms designed to be kept or displayed after the sweets are finished. The artwork shows the figures in transparent, package-shaped cases, including designs pairing characters such as Snoopy and Woodstock or Charlie Brown and Snoopy. That format makes the range feel closer to miniature character merchandise than a conventional packet freebie.
The launch follows a familiar Japanese character-snack model: one product gives fans a low-cost way to collect several designs, while the randomised line encourages repeat purchases. Bandai has not announced an international release in the sources checked for this report, so readers outside Japan should not assume the product will receive a wider launch.
Our opinion
This is a small release, but the package-shaped charms are a smart fit for Peanuts. The figures are recognisable without needing a large display, and the eight-character line gives the product enough variety to appeal beyond Snoopy alone. The main caveat is availability: because this is a Japanese retail confectionery launch, overseas fans may have to rely on specialist importers rather than a standard international rollout.
The official SNOOPY.co.jp listing has the full product details, while Anime! Anime! reports the launch date, character line-up and price. Bandai says the product is available from 26 October in Japanese confectionery sections.
