Sanrio characters return as 24 sparkling gem-themed figures
Re-Ment's new Sanrio SURPRISE MIX collection turns familiar characters into 24 sparkling gem-themed figures, launching in Japan on 23 November.
Re-Ment is turning Sanrio favourites into a sparkling collection of miniature figures, with the new SURPRISE MIX! -Sparkling Gems- range due to arrive in Japan on 23 November. The official product listing confirms that the series will include 24 designs, with figures supplied alongside a piece of chewing gum.12
What is in the collection?
The line brings together recognisable Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, My Melody and Kuromi, reimagined as colourful gem-inspired toys. The official promotional image shows the characters paired with jewel-like bases, hearts, stars, moons and crystal-style accessories, giving the range a deliberately bright and collectible look.1
Each pack contains four figures selected at random. Re-Ment divides the assortment into Super Rare, Rare and Normal designs, with the Super Rare figures receiving more elaborate finishes. That random format means collectors will not know exactly which combination they have until a pack is opened, while the full range gives fans 24 designs to track down.12
The product is part of Re-Ment's wider catalogue of small character collectibles, but this release leans particularly hard into the jewellery-box visual theme. Rather than simply printing Sanrio faces on standard capsule toys, the figures are built around translucent-looking colours, metallic finishes and oversized gem shapes. The result is closer to a tiny display collection than a conventional novelty sweet.
The range is currently listed for toy shops, variety-goods retailers and character shops in Japan. Re-Ment lists the price at ¥1,650 including tax, although availability and final retail pricing outside Japan have not been announced in the source material.1
What we know about the release
The official listing gives 23 November 2026 as the release date and marks the product as scheduled rather than already available. That distinction matters for collectors: the announcement confirms the planned launch, but it does not confirm international distribution or a pre-order window for the UK and Europe.1
Our opinion
The strongest part of this release is the visual identity. Sanrio collaborations are hardly short of collectible figures, but the gem theme gives this one a clear reason to exist beyond another character assortment. The 24-design checklist and random four-figure packs will appeal to committed collectors, while the colourful display pieces should also work as small desk decorations. The catch is familiar: anyone chasing a particular character may need to buy several packs or wait for individual listings. For now, this is a charming Japan-first collectible to watch rather than a confirmed worldwide launch.
